Helen Evans Boyd

Helen Evans Boyd, 77, of McComb, died May 30, 2008, at the Cardiovascular Institute of Mississippi. Visitation is noon today at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb until services there at 2 p.m., with Dr. David Millican officiating. Burial will be in Barron-Bethany Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyd was born May 5, 1931, in Pike County to Ben and Maudie Lee Howell Evans. She was a certified nurses assistant and worked for 32 years at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia before retiring because of health problems.

She was a member of the former Locust Street Baptist Church in McComb.Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles E. Boyd. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Gwen Boyd of McComb; a brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and Johnnie Wells of McComb; a sister-in-law, Nell Maness of Gulfport; six grandchildren, Melissa Pine, Michael Nunnery, Dawn Barron, Tracy Boyd, Jennifer Knight and Kari Baker; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Nunnery, Jason Knight, Adam Barron and Clay Baker.
