Camille Burris Davis
Camille Burris Davis, 95, of River Ridge,
La., and formerly of Amite County, died April 20, 2006, at Ochsner’s
Medical Center in New Orleans.
Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and 10 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. Joe Holmes will officiate. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery in Amite County.
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 13, 1921, in McComb to Julius Burris and Ethel Wilkinson Burris.
She was a re tired registered nurse from Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. She was a member of Harahan Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Idelle Burris Sykes and Dell Burris; a brother, J.O. Burris Jr; and a brother-in-law, Hershal Davis.
Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, Hugh B. Burris and Margaret Catherine of Kingsville, Texas, Thomas D. Burris and Miriam Ott of Elloree, S.C., and Cullen Reeves and Sarah of Jackson; two sisters, Camille Burris Davis of River Ridge, La., and Faye Burris Coulter of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Ruth King Burris of Clarksdale; a number of nieces, nephews including, J.O. Burris III of Round Rock, Texas, Hugh Burris Jr. of Friendswood, Texas and Jimmy Newman of the Mars Hill community, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gene Reeves, Paul Edwin, Jim Newman, James Burris, Tommy Burris, Hugh Burris Jr., Randy Burris and Cullen Reeves.
