Betty Sue Cothern

1933-2008

Betty Sue Cothern, 75, of the Enon community and a resident of McComb Extended Care, died June, 7, 2008, in McComb. Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Enon Baptist Church in Walthall County, and 10 a.m. Monday until 11 a.m. services there with the Rev. David Hedden officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cothern was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Walthall County. She was the daughter of Simmie J. and Wilma Boyd Cothern.

She was retired from Kellwood Co. in McComb with 50 years service. She was a lifelong member of Enon Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years .

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Cothern and Eloyd Cothern; one sister, Elaine Roberts; one nephew, Ricky Roberts; two nieces, Dorothy Roberts Wallace and Betty Patricia Roberts; and a great-niece, Kimberly Nicole Johnson.

Survivors include two sisters, Gloria Dunaway and husband Jewel, and Lavern Dunaway, all of Enon; four nieces and their husbands, Barbara and Gerald Lawrence, Janice and Charles Dunaway, Belinda and Frankie Roberts, all of Enon, and Lana Sue and Ronnie Montgomery of Wascom, Texas; a special nephew whom she helped raise, Robbie Dunaway and wife Bobbie of Enon; special cousins and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Dunaway, Kriss Dunaway, Gerald Lawrence, Steve Lawrence, Jerry Boyd and Terry Boyd.
