Alonzo "Lonnie" Dunhurst

1953-2006

Alonzo Dunhurst, 52, of Ruth, died June 30, 2006, at his home.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Ray Bowlin officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery in Walthall County.

Mr. Dunhurst was born Aug. 21, 1953, in Picayune. He was the son of William and Emma Russell Dunhurst.

He was a retired truck driver for Associated Grocers. He attended Calvary UPC and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Dunhurst was preceded in death by his parents; and a step-grandson, Joe Rutland.

Survivors include his wife, Evon Dunhurst of Ruth; six stepsons, Windell, Thomas, Ronnie and Joe Rutland, all of Jayess, Braxton Rutland of Baldwyn and John Rutland of Ruth; four stepdaughters, Birdie Temple and Jenette Perry, both of McComb, Glenda Mulberry of Clinton and Bonnie Philips of Tylertown; 10 stepgrandchildren, Scott Phillips, Devin, Kevin, Thomas, Matthew, Tommy, Dale, Thomas, Larry and Johnathan Rutland; and 21 step-granddaughters, Sandra, Felicia, Rhonda, Virginia, Pam, Layle, Marybeth, Angie, Wanda, Misty, Sonya, Tammy, Lisa, Donna, Nicole, Tiffany, Natasha, Laronda, Lanita, Cassey and Crystal Dale.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
