Freddie Mae Conerly
1920-2008
Freddie Mae Conerly, 88, of McComb, died May 6, 2008, at her
home. Visitation was 10 a.m. today until services at 10:30 at
Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb. The Revs. Ed Sudduth and J.
Frank Smith officiated. Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery.
Mrs. Conerly was born April 10, 1920, in Mount Hermon, La., to
Dossie and Margie Miller Morris.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in McComb. She was
a retired registered nurse, having worked most of her 50-year career
as a private duty nurse. She worked for a number of years at McComb
City Hospital and Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. She
also taught nurses aide classes at Southwest Mississippi Community
College.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Morris;
and sisters, Irma Miller, Jessie Roberts and Doris Morris.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jewel D. Conerly of
McComb; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Frank Fisher of
Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Jennifer Fisher Revelle and
husband David of Charlotte; two nephews, Hugh Roberts and Allen
Morris; three nieces, Bernadette Morris, Sandra Wesley and Sylvia
Morris; two great-nieces, Kimberly and Courtney Roberts; and her
loving and devoted caretakers, Jerelyn Roberts and Patricia Price,
both of McComb.
Pallbearers were Charles Dunagin, Jimmy Cooper, Cliff Clark, Harold
White, Balfour Lipscomb and Ronnie Thaxton.
