Mary B. Greer

1922-2008

Mary Virginia Bardwell Greer, 85, of McComb, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2008, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and continues from 9 a.m. Monday until services there at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Lee Castello and the Rev. Mike Hebert officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery.

Mrs. Greer was born July 27, 1922, in Pike County to Charles Clayo Bardwell and Ethel Virginia Fenn Bardwell.

She was a homemaker and had been a member of North McComb Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse L. Greer; a son, Charles Wiley Greer; two brothers, Robert Bardwell and Otis Bardwell and a sister, Thetus Jordan.

Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse C. and Mollie Greer, Frank V. and Peggy Greer and James H. and Laurie Greer, all of McComb, Billy P. and Elizabeth Greer of Athens, Ga., and Dickey and Diane Greer of West Monroe, La.; a sister-in-law, Minnie Jim Bardwell of McComb; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sandy Buie, Johnny Graves, Thad Wright, Donald Lee Brown, George McKenzie and Jimmy Robertson.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of North McComb Baptist Church.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 130 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
