Joseph C. “Joe” McKenzie

1961-2008

Joseph Carroll “Joe” McKenzie, 46, of McComb, died at his home. Visitation is 3 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church on Hart Road until memorial services at 6 p.m., with Bro. Jim Dalton officiating. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McKenzie was born Nov. 7, 1961, in McComb. He was the son of Georgianne Norwood McKenzie and the late Davis Carroll McKenzie.

Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Willie Ara and Louise Boutwell McKenzie and his maternal grandparents, Cecil Floyd and Gladys Trevillion Norwood.

Survivors include his mother; one son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Lacey Duck McKenzie; one granddaughter, Chloe Lane McKenzie; one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis Michael and Lisa May McKenzie; one sister and brother-in-law, Keturah Lynn and Rob Price; three nieces, Felicia Anne Kelley, Rachael Lynn Kelley and Pamela Price; and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 233, McComb, MS 39649.

Dear GeorgeAnne and Family, I am so sorry and saddened to hear about Joe's passing. I dearly loved and cared for Joe. I wish things could have turned out differently. I know I don't understand why this had to happen and I'm sure you don't, but God is in Control and he will be with us. Everything works into God's plans and he will comfort and guide us through these difficult times.... Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers while you go through this difficult time.
