Kimberly Nicole Dunaway Johnson

1971-2008

Kimberly Nicole Dunaway Johnson, 36, of the Enon community, died unexpectedly May 20, 2008, at Walthall County Hospital in Tylertown. Visitation is 5 to 9 tonight at Enon Baptist Church and noon Friday until services there at 2 p.m., with the Rev. David Hedden officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 24, 1971, in McComb. She was the daughter of Charles L. and Janice Dunaway of the Enon community. She was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church at Carter’s Creek and attended Enon Baptist Church. She was an assistant third-grade teacher at Salem School, having worked there for 14 years.

Her family remembers Kim as the sunshine in so many people’s eyes. She loved her family and her students dearly. She strived to see that the lives of everyone she was involved with — family, friends, students or whomever were full and happy. Her life was spent doing for others. She enjoyed coaching and watching her daughter Jessica play softball, volleyball and basketball. She fully supported each of her children in all of their activities and endeavors. She loved not only teaching, but helping with the cheerleaders at Salem and was very involved with the softball program.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Tommie Lynn Cothern; her paternal grandfather, Feldon Dunaway; her maternal grandfather, Clevy Dunaway; and her grandparents-in-law, L.A. and Julia Strong.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Johnson of the Enon community; her parents; two sons, Adam and Cain Johnson of Enon; two daughters, Jena and Jessica Johnson of Enon; her paternal grandmother, Lucille Dunaway of McComb; her maternal grandmother, Lavern Dunaway of Enon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kevin and Ashlin Dunaway of Enon and Kris and Jennifer Dunaway of Salem; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Shirley Johnson of McComb; two nieces, Becca Lynn Dunaway of Salem and Kaitlin Dunaway of Enon; a nephew, Devin Dunaway of Enon; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shane and Carmen Johnson of McComb; aunts and uncles, Gerald and Barbara Lawrence of Enon, Belinda and Frankie Roberts of Jayess, Feldon and Linda Dunaway of McComb, Nolan and Gail Dunaway of Holmesville and Thomas and Barbara Strong of McComb; numerous cousins and great-aunts and uncles and her special friends, the staff and students of Salem School.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Lawrence, Robbie Dunaway, Brandon Boyd, Steve Lawrence, Shane Johnson and Gwynn Holmes.
