Marvin E. Rayborn

1954-2008

Marvin E. Rayborn, 54, of Jayess, died June 21, 2008, at Camellia Estates in McComb after a lengthy illness with cancer. Visitation is 9 a.m. Monday at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb until services at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Paul Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood cemetery.

Mr. Rayborn was born March 20, 1954, in McComb to Ezra and Burnie Mitchell Rayborn. Mr. Rayborn’s family said he enjoyed shooting pool, loved to fish and play baseball and was an avid drag racing fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Rayborn and James Jackson; and three sisters, Majestic “Jett” Griffin, Margie Culotta and Maude Bacot.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel McCullough Rayborn of Jayess; a son, Cory Rayborn of Summit; a daughter, Cheri Rayborn of Jayess; three brothers, Frank “Sonny” Criswell and wife Margie of McComb, Jerry Joe Rayborn and wife Jenny of Franklinton, La., and Ted Rayborn of McComb; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Thomas Pine of Baton Rouge, Kaye and Bobby Ward of McComb, Debbie and the Rev. Paul Barnes of Wesson and Marsha and Butch Lamkin of McComb; two brothers-in-law, Howard McCullough and Jon McCullough, both of McComb; two sisters-in-law, Berniece Davis and Bonnie Anding and husband, Steve, all of Brookhaven; four grandchildren, Katherine Dear, Bryson Dear, Aubrey Rayborn and Caston Rayborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Nettles, Ricky Sandifer, John Niblin, Lane O’Quin, Mickey Thames and Michael Noworyta.
