Willie Nell Greer Robbins

1939-2008

Willie Nell Greer Robbins, 69, of Jayess, died June 20, 2008, at her residence. Visitation is 5 p.m. today at Tilton United Methodist Church until services there at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. John Maki and Bro. Chuck Carney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Robbins was born May 19, 1939, in Lincoln County to Cyril Greer and Hazel Gatlin Greer. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked 18 years at McComb Extended Care and serving a number of years at Lawrence County Nursing Home before working and retiring from Kidney Care in Brookhaven. She was a member of Tilton United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Donald R. Robbins; and one sister, Barbara Ann Russell.

Survivors include five children, Vicki Alexander of Baton Rouge, Victor Mike Harris of Ruston, La., Don Robbins and his wife Charlotte, and Abby and her husband Jerry Cothern, all of Jayess, and Stacy and her husband Tim Wilson of Smithdale; one brother and his wife, Stanley Ray and Diane Greer of Bogue Chitto; two sisters and their husbands, Linda and Hollis Pittman of Hattiesburg and Jackie and Larry Smith of Greensburg, La.,; a special friend, Christine Alexander of Jayess; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne Robbins, Jeremy Cothern, Alex Alexander, Kevin Chipman, Joey Durr, Mark Reid and Allen May.
